Installation
Use the following procedures to install Russian or Eastern European character sets.
To install Russian and Eastern European character sets as a global option

If you want to install the Russian character set, copy the KOI8-R.trn file from the localized client software to the Exchsrvr\Connect\Trn directory on your Microsoft Exchange Server computer. To add the Russian character set as a global option, in the Administrator program, on the Internet Mail property page of the Internet Mail Service, set the character sets for multi-purpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) and non-MIME to Russian (KOI8-R).

If you want to install the Polish, Czech, or Hungarian character set, copy the ISO88592.trn file from the localized client software to the Exchsrvr\Connect\Trn directory on your Microsoft Exchange Server computer. To add the Polish, Czech or Hungarian character sets as global options, in the Administrator program, on the Internet Mail property page of the Internet Mail Service, set the character sets for MIME and non-MIME to Central European International Standards Organization (ISO) #8859-2.
If you do not want to set Russian or Eastern European character sets as global options, you can specify the message content by e-mail domain.
To specify message content by e-mail domain

In the Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator program, select a server, and then select Configuration.

Choose Connections, and then select Internet Mail Service.

Select the Internet Mail tab, and then choose E-Mail Domain.

Add or edit the domain entry.

Select the character set you want to use.
