Server load can be affected not only by the roles the server performs, but also by the following factors:

• Whether messages are delivered to a personal folder (.pst) file or the server's private information store
• How public folders are used and replicated
• How often rules and views are used
• The frequency of directory replication
• How much activity the MTA is experiencing
• The type of network you are using
