When starting Microsoft Outlook, one of the more common reasons for a slow startup is the failure to resolve the TCP/IP host name. Another possible cause is remote procedure call (RPC) binding order. If the host name resolves normally but the client starts up slowly, the RPC binding order might need to be modified.
