Configuring Disks

For optimal performance and recoverability, the operating system drive should be mirrored, the transaction logs placed on a dedicated physical drive (which can also be mirrored), and the Windows NT swap file and Microsoft Exchange information store placed on a mirror or RAID 5 disk set. Because off-line maintenance and repair routines require up to twice the disk space of the database file being administered with the ESEUTIL utility, be sure you allow sufficient disk space.
