Verifying Active Processes

Use Tlist.exe to verify the process has been successfully terminated. If the process is still active, try Kill.exe a few more times. Always give the server a few minutes to terminate a process.

Tlist.exe is a character-based application and can be used in a RPROMPT sessions. Tlist.exe is a utility that is available with the Microsoft Windows NT Server Resource Kit.

There will be occasions where the process cannot be terminated. If this is the case, the server needs to be restarted.
