Checking the Log

The daily log system is a useful repository of your messaging system's performance. In addition to performance data, the daily log can be used to establish problem resolution times and audit trails for verification of service level agreements.

Checking the daily log should be the responsibility of all messaging operations technicians, particularly at the beginning of shifts. This way the oncoming shift is aware of the events of the preceding shift. Methods for checking the daily log vary, but common ones are reports generated by an automated process, and a simple, Web-based query interface to the daily log database.
