A log report that shows all log entries for a given day should be distributed daily to messaging operations management and engineering. Event and procedure severity levels indicated should elicit the appropriate response within these groups. Messaging system engineering can assist with those issues that require escalation out of the messaging operations regular staff.
The most effective report distribution media is e-mail. However, if your messaging system is not working, then you can't receive the daily log report that is supposed to notify upper level messaging operations personnel of problems. If your messaging system is not working for lengthy periods of time, then upper level staff should already know about it. The daily log report is not needed in such an event. The daily log report is a monitoring method for regular operations.
