Multilingual Support for SMS Clients

SMS attempts to match the language of the SMS client user interface (dialog boxes, messages to the user, and text displayed in any SMS user component) to one of the seven site server languages supported by SMS 2.0. Because the client’s operating system can support many language dialects, if SMS cannot match the client’s current language settings (such as Australian English) directly to a supported language, it will either render the client interface as closely as possible in a supported version of the language or install client software components in the default language of the site server.

For example, the SMS administrators in Amsterdam must support clients localized to the Standard and Belgian versions of Dutch. SMS will install client software localized for Standard Dutch on these clients, rendering the client localization settings in the closest matching supported SMS client language version.
