Clients Have No Protocol Fallback Ability

If you are operating in an IPX-only environment when you enable Remote Tools, make sure that you also change the default protocol from its initial value of TCP/IP. Otherwise, the client agent (Wuser or Wuser32) cannot post a listen command, and you will receive an error message stating that the client is “unable to initialize the requested protocol.”

If you do not specify the correct protocol, there is no “protocol fallback” functionality on the client agent. The agent is not able to try other available protocols on the client.
