Other Ways to Customize the SMS_def.mof File

Using MOF Manager is the most common way to customize the SMS_def.mof file. However, you can also change this file by doing the following:

• Using any text editor to change the SMS_Report flags.
• Using any third-party tool.

Each attribute has a property called the SMS_Report flag. To collect a property or class, set the SMS_Report flag to TRUE. To end the collection of a property or class, set the SMS_Report flag to FALSE.
