You can query new architectures that are created with IDMIF files and new classes and attributes created with IDMIF files and NOIDMIF files in the same way as any other architecture. Classes that extend the System architecture (which you created by using NOIDMIF files) appear in Resource Explorer, just as any other class or attribute.
You cannot use information about the new classes and attributes in IDMIF files to create packages, but you can use this information from NOIDMIF files.
Information that you add by using NOIDMIF files is not part of discovery, so hardware inventory cannot automatically record changes in such information. Instead, you must add any changes you want to make to the SMS site database. To do so, change the current NOIDMIF file on each client.
Custom architectures that you create by using NOIDMIF files cannot be displayed in Resource Explorer. To access these classes and attributes, you must instead create a query by using the Query Builder. After you create the query, you can use it to examine the data that is included with the new architecture. For more information, see Chapter 13, “Managing Collections and Queries” in the SMS 2.0 Administrator’s Guide.
