Installing and Starting SMS Site Properties Manager

You will automatically install SMS Site Properties Manager when you install either the complete Microsoft BackOffice 4.5 Resource Kit or the SMS scalability tools from the Microsoft BackOffice 4.5 Resource Kit CD-ROM.

SMS Site Properties Manager requires a connection to a functioning SMS site, which can be either a production site or a pilot project site.

Procedure Bullet  To start SMS Site Properties Manager

  1. Click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Resource Kit, and then click Tools Management Console.
  2. Double-click SMS Site Properties Manager in the SMS\Scalability Tools directory on the Microsoft BackOffice 4.5 Resource Kit CD-ROM.
  3. To connect to the site whose settings you want to work with, on the Action menu, click Connect.

Before you proceed to the following sections, you should start SMS Site Properties Manager and connect to an SMS primary site server.
