Troubleshooting Tips
If you have assigned the CAP role in the SMS Administrator console, but the site server is not receiving the CAP files:
- Verify that at least an hour has passed since you designated the new CAP in the Site Systems properties dialog box. Creating a CAP requires the copying of significant numbers of directories and files from the site server to the CAP.
- Verify that the connection account has full rights to the volume designated as a CAP. The connection account is specified in the Site Systems dialog box under Connection Accounts in the SMS Administrator console.
Note If the designated volume is on NetWare NDS, permissions are set to the container object in which the volume resides.
- Verify that SMS is not already connected to the computer you have designated as a CAP using another account. SMS will use the existing connection to the computer, even if that account does not have sufficient rights to create the CAP.
- Check the status messages generated by Hierarchy Manager and Inbox Manager for possible causes of failure to create the CAP.
If clients are having problems accessing a CAP created on a NetWare 4.x bindery emulation system:
- Verify that the group Everyone was created before the new CAP was designated in Site Systems in the SMS Administrator console.
