Troubleshooting Tips

If clients are not granted licenses:

• Verify that the client can connect to the software metering server.
• Confirm that the software metering server has licenses for the application being run.

If licenses are not granted when a metered application is opened:

• Check the user/computer permissions in the Software Metering Administrator to make sure that they have access to open the application.
• Check to see if the metered application permission is set to deny access during all access times.

  You can specify when to allow access and when to deny it in the metered application from the Program Properties dialog box, Permissions tab.

  To open the Software Metering console, double-click on Software Metering in the SMS Administrator console.

  Right-click the product and select Properties.

  If the user tries to open a metered application during “No Access” times, it will be denied.

• Verify that no licenses are available in the Software Metering Administrator if a callback option appears. If there are licenses available, use the troubleshooting tips for Figure 22.5, “Software Metering: Callback Processing.”
