Until you enable the Remote Tools client agent in the SMS Administrator console, no Remote Tools client components are installed on clients in the site. If Remote Tools is enabled for a site, the client components are installed on all clients in the site the next time Client Component Installation Manager (CCIM) starts.
If you use Express Setup to install a primary site, the Remote Tools are enabled by default. If you use Custom Setup to install a primary site, the Remote Tools are disabled by default.
This flowchart documents the activity that takes place on the client when Remote Tools are installed on client computers. This flowchart describes the actions on 16-bit clients, as well as the actions on Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows 95 or Windows 98 clients.
