Message Text

The third column in each table lists the status messages themselves. When applicable, the client and server messages include both a possible cause and a solution for each error and warning message. Periodically, you will also see the possible cause and solution for an informational message. This occurs most frequently with the status summarizer components. Although the information in the summarizer components is informational because they report about your site and hierarchy, sometimes they indicate problems that require your intervention.

The software metering error and warning messages often do not contain the possible cause and solution. When these messages are reported, review the messages in sequence to determine the pattern of the problem. Doing so will help you determine the correct course of action.

Many of the messages in the third column also contain a number preceded by a percent symbol (for example, %1). A number preceding a percent sign indicates text that SMS provides with specific information for SMS objects. For example, when the SMS Available Programs Agent reports the message “A data integrity error was detected for the advertisement %1,” the status message in your site will display the correct name for the advertisement rather than “%1.”
