This feature allows a client such as an IBM Communications Manager/2 system to access host connections available on a computer running SNA Server. Even though such clients do not use the SNA Server client/server interface, they can use a PU passthrough connection and a downstream LU to communicate with the host via SNA Server. SNA Server passes the information between the client system and the host. With SNA Server, PU passthrough systems appear to the host as a physical unit.
The Local Node Name and Remote Node Name fields are meaningless on PU passthrough connections because all this information is simply passed through from one end node to the other.
