SNA Server installations are growing in complexity. At some customer sites, more than 10,000 users work with thousands of LUs in a single subdomain. Meanwhile, system administrators monitor multiple subdomains each containing up to 15 SNA Server computers.
The work that SNA Server performs is also complex. It comprises many services and management objects, including Shared Folders, AFTP, Host Print Service, TN3270, TN5250, SNA Remote Access Service, and Host Security.
This chapter explains SNA Server and some of its underlying architecture.
