Before you install SNA Server, you should determine what kind of file system is being used on the installation volume. Unless you have a specific need, it is recommended that you use an NTFS-type partition. With NTFS, permissions can be set on a file-by-file basis. FAT and HPFS do not allow you to control user access at a file level. Installing the SNA Server software on an NTFS partition is especially important for the primary server, because it is this computer that contains the master copy of the configuration file used by all SNA Server-based computers in the subdomain.
If you must install SNA Server on a non-NTFS partition, you can limit a user’s ability to view or change an SNA Server configuration file through the SNA Server Manager; however, you will not be able to set file permissions on the configuration file
