DNS

(Domain Name System) An application layer Internet protocol that provides mappings between host names and network addresses. DNS is defined by RFCs 1033 and 1034.

drop directory

A disk directory in which an SMTP service deposits incoming mail messages. Each message is represented by a separate file with an extension of .eml.

dual interface

A COM interface that extends the IDispatch interface. By convention, this allows an application to access the methods and properties either through IDispatch::Invoke or directly through the vtable.
