Information or content that is sent by a sender to one or more recipients.
A character string associated with a messaging user such that a messaging system can deliver a message to that user when designated by its messaging address. A full messaging address typically has the format UserName@subnet.domain
but can also take other forms.
A product that enables electronic communication over a network such as the Internet. A messaging system serves client applications, which normally access it through service providers.
(MIME Encapsulation of Aggregate HTML Documents) An Internet standard for sending HTML documents within MIME formatted messages. The HTML documents are included as body parts and are referenced by URLs in the message. The MHTML standard is specified in RFCs 2110, 2111, and 2112.
(Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) An Internet standard for electronic messages that contain several body parts, typically encapsulated messages. The MIME standard is specified in RFCs 1341, 1521, 1522, 2045, 2046, 2047, 2048, and 2049.
(Multi-Threaded Apartment) A construct used by the COM runtime when managing disparate threading models between COM classes and their consumers. Instances of COM classes must reside in some apartment. COM classes that are designed to support concurrent access from multiple threads can exist in MTAs.
