Platform SDK: CDO for Windows 2000 |
The design of Microsoft Collaboration Data Objects for Windows® 2000® is based on Internet standards for messaging. To fully understand and use this component, it is important that you understand the standards on which it is modeled. The standards that are discussed in the following sections are specifications for how messages are formatted for transmission across a network. The CDO object model is based on these formats, and provides what is essentially an object-oriented version of each format. CDO natively formats messages using these specifications when they are transmitted or serialized, and CDO can process any message that exists in these formats. The CDO object model becomes simple and intuitive to use if you understand the formats.
