1.4 Requirements

This calling standard was developed with the following requirements:

• The standard must be implementable on all Alpha platforms.
  
  
• The standard must be implementable by non-DIGITAL compiler writers.
  
  
• The standard must not require any complex compilation techniques (such as link-time code movement) for correctness.
