Allows you to change default settings for the development environment.
Note Application-specific options do not appear in the Options dialog box until the application is loaded into memory. Therefore you may not see the same options you saw during your last session. Once you create a project or use a command that uses a particular application, the options appear in the Options dialog box and remain available as long as the application remains in memory. Common options are available all of the time.
CAUTION Clicking Cancel cancels all of the changes made in the dialog box. If you made changes to more than one category, none of the changes will be saved.
Allows you to customize the number of windows that appear in the Windows list of the Windows menu by typing in a number between 1 and 24. The default is 8.
Allows you to customize the number of most recently used projects and files that appear in the File menu by typing in a number between 1 and 24. The default is 4. The MRU list persists per machine.
Displays the status bar.
When selected, changes the development environment from a multiple document interface (MDI) to a single document interface (SDI). When you select this option, the SDI appears every time you restart the environment until you clear this option.
When opening a new file in the development environment, reuses the current editor window, if it has been saved, instead of opening a new window.
When selected, hides the editor windows when the Project Explorer is collapsed.
Notifies you when a file as been changed using an editor outside of the development environment. For example, suppose you open a file in your editor and, while you are editing it, the file is changed using another product such as Microsoft Word. Unless you synchronize the files, the one in the development environment will be out of date. Selecting this option causes a message to notify you when a file has been changed. The message asks you if you want to reopen the file, which will synchronize it. When this option is not selected, you will not be notified to synchronize your file.
Displays an empty development environment when you start your product.
Displays the New Project dialog box with the New tab active.
Displays the last saved solution.
