Overview of IISAM Driver Windows Registry Settings

Each IISAM driver has a corresponding registry setting that configures the driver upon initialization. During the installation process for the IISAM drivers, the Setup program creates keys in the registry for the following data sources:

During this process, the Microsoft Office 97, Microsoft Access, or Visual Basic Setup program also assigns a set of default values to each IISAM driver. Your application can alter these values to change the behavior of certain aspects of each driver. For example, you can select a collating sequence for the FoxPro IISAM driver that changes the case-sensitive behavior of the driver, as discussed in the following section.

Note The Setup program does not write many of the settings for the Microsoft Jet 2.x and Microsoft Jet 3.0 and 3.5 IISAM drivers, or for the ODBC drivers. If you add registry settings for any IISAM driver or for ODBC, you must shut down and restart Microsoft Jet so that the new settings can take effect.
