MSDN Online, at http://msdn.microsoft.com/, is the one-stop resource for both Web site development and application development. You get the latest developer news, updates to the MSDN Library, the Web Workshop, and the Knowledge Base, plus training opportunities and events in your area. Improved navigation and search capabilities make it much easier to find what you want.
Besides being the one place where all developers can easily access technical information (including the MSDN Library), tools, and a community of developers, MSDN Online also offers information from Microsoft Product Support Services, information about events and training, and much more. Here are some highlights:
MSDN Online Developer Centers provide a quick way to find all of the resources and information about a product or technology in one easy place. With links to all of the relevant articles in the MSDN Library and MSDN Online Web Workshop, the Knowledge Base, special features and articles, and third-party resources, Developer Centers make it easy to get up-to-speed on a particular topic fast. Plus, you have the opportunity to get in touch with other MSDN Online users and take part in newsgroups and chats on each topic.
MSDN Voices is an online forum for expert Microsoft columnists—combining many of the popular voices of Site Builder Network Magazine (like Web Men Talking, DHTML Dude, Extreme XML, and your other favorites) with MSDN Online's celebrated answer man Dr. GUI, and the enterprising code jockeys behind MSDN's giant sample app, Duwamish Books. You can also read our regular columnists on C++, Visual Basic, Scripting, Windows DNA, and more.
This is where you can find the online version of the MSDN Library. Here also is the MSDN Online Web Workshop, which provides the latest information about Internet technologies, including reference material and in-depth articles on all aspects of Web site design and development.
The MSDN Show keeps you up-to-date on the cutting-edge technologies for your Windows and Web applications. It includes a balanced blend of technology, education, and coding examples, as well as a little light-hearted entertainment. Each on-demand Webcast focuses on an individual technology and provides you with the background you need, from high-level issues to ground-level coding, to take advantage of that technology.
Target your search on the MSDN Library, Web Workshop, additional developer content, product information, or the Microsoft Knowledge Base (Microsoft's product support database). If you prefer, check all five boxes and search all of these sources at once. You can also scope your search to specific directories within either the Library or Workshop. We list up to 100 hits and you can narrow down your search within a result set.
For the most frequently requested search terms, we now offer the "Best Bets" feature, which is our suggestions for the best links related to the term. Now, if you search for "Visual Basic," we'll recommend visiting the Visual Basic product site. In addition, we've added a section called "Key Topics" that provides one-click access to the information on current, hot technologies, such as XML.
Check here for the top support issues Microsoft Product Support Services is hearing about from our customers, categorized by product or technology. If you have customized your Start page, we display only the support answers concerning products and technologies you chose.
Our site-wide navigation bar has easy links to lots of stuff that makes MSDN Online easier to use, including a site map, a chronology of recently posted content, a comprehensive Microsoft developer glossary, and more.
Our new rating and comment system lets you post your opinions of our articles and columns. You can rate articles on a scale of 1 to 5, and you can post threaded comments on each article.
Let us know how we're doing. At MSDN Online Feedback, you can find information about sending us e-mail, filing bug reports, and technical support options. You helped us create this site, and we hope you will continue to help us tailor it to your needs.
