IDirect3DVertexBuffer7::Optimize

The IDirect3DVertexBuffer7::Optimize method converts an unoptimized vertex buffer into an optimized vertex buffer.

Parameters

lpD3DDevice
Address of the IDirect3DDevice7 interface of the device for which this vertex buffer is to be optimized.
dwFlags
Not currently used; set to 0.

Return Values

If the method succeeds, the return value is D3D_OK.

If the method fails, the return value can be one of the following values:

D3DERR_VERTEXBUFFEROPTIMIZED
D3DERR_VERTEXBUFFERLOCKED
DDERR_INVALIDPARAMS
DDERR_OUTOFMEMORY

Remarks

In the legacy IDirect3DVertexBuffer interface, this method accepted a pointer to the IDirect3DDevice3 interface.

Requirements

  Windows NT/2000: Requires Windows 2000.
  Windows 95/98: Requires Windows 95 or later. Available as a redistributable for Windows 95.
  Version: Requires DirectX 7.0.
  Header: Declared in d3d.h.
