Locating View Descriptors Using MAPI

View descriptors are stored as hidden messages in many locations within a MAPI message store. View descriptors are messages known as associated information. These messages are not visible to the user; they are accessible using MAPI.

There are four types of view descriptors: common, personal, folder, and current.
