Formatting the Packing List File

The packing list file reports the code page in which the files are stored and lists all primary and secondary files. The first bytes of the packing list file specify the standard code-page number used in all of the primary and secondary files. The code-page number is on a line by itself and is followed by a blank line. The following sample packing list file illustrates the format:

850

Filename,Filetype
SALESPO1.PRI,Primary
SALESPO1.SEC,Secondary
SALESPO2.SEC,Secondary

The code-page number in this example is 850. The suggested code pages are 850 and 1252, but the code page that you use depends on your existing system, file transfer to the Microsoft Exchange Server, and the languages supported.
