Tracking an Item's Status

The routing engine that runs on the Microsoft Exchange Server computer automatically tracks the status of each item in the folder. It adds any comments made by recipients to the body of the original message, and it keeps track of who has approved or rejected the item so far. To view the status tracking information, you need to use Microsoft Outlook 97 (version 8.03 or later). Open the Microsoft Exchange folder where the routed items are stored and double-click any item to examine its status.

Tracking Posted Items

If the original item posted to a folder was a regular document or e-mail message, you see a Tracking tab when you open the item in Microsoft Outlook. This tab displays which recipients have responded, what time they responded, and whether they approved or rejected the item.

If the original item posted to the folder was a custom form, you do not automatically see a Tracking tab in Microsoft Outlook. The custom form would need to be modified to display status-tracking information.
