CDO for Exchange 2000 Server

Microsoft CDO for Exchange 2000 Server is a server-side collaborative component used in conjunction with the Microsoft® ActiveX® Data Objects Version 2.5 (ADO) and Active Directory Services Interfaces (ADSI) components to create Web collaborative solutions based upon the Microsoft Exchange Web Store and Active Directory. Where ADO and ADSI provide the fundamental data access mechanisms to the Web Store and Active Directory, CDO provides extended collaborative functionality that includes the creation and management of:

• Folders and non-folder items.
• Messages.
• Appointments.
• Meeting request messages and the associated correlation of individual responses (accept, accept tentative, decline) to the request.
• Contacts.
• User mailboxes and Web Store folder hierarchies and settings.
• Store event-driven workflows used to manage process-driven applications.

Unlike previous versions of CDO, CDO for Exchange 2000 is available only on the same machine (or cluster) as Microsoft® Exchange 2000 Server itself. CDO for Exchange 2000 can only access data within the Exchange 2000 Server Web Store present on the local machine; it cannot access data residing in different Exchange 2000 Server Web Stores.
