Knowledge Management
[This is preliminary documentation and subject to change.]
Critical to any collaborative application's success is its ability to enable users to easily organize, find, search, secure, and access information. When using Web Store, you have a repository that makes this easy to do. For example,
- You can easily and intuitively organize content in hierarchies of folders. Along with this content, you can store information about the content for fast and efficient indexing and display. Changing the folder hierarchies and items within these folders is simple and easy.
- You can control access to items and their properties can be controlled using standard Windows 2000 security descriptors.
- You can search entire folder hierarchies using a simple and straightforward SQL syntax, the same syntax used by Microsoft Indexing Service.
- You can access content using a wide variety of protocols and APIs, including HTTP/WebDAV, ADO, the file system, MAPI and others.
- You can provide discoverable schema information about the content within your application's folders, including the content's intended purpose or function, and the set of properties relevant to the content.
