Platform SDK: Web Telephony Engine

Scripting Support

In cases where HTML lacks the flexibility required for some IVR applications, Microsoft Visual Basic® Scripting Edition (VBScript) and JScript® can be used. The scripts can be used in the same way as in a regular HTML page. Using scripting, the IVR developer can create more powerful and flexible IVR applications.

WTE uses the same component object model (COM) as Internet Explorer. This means that all the familiar Internet Explorer scripting objects are also available to Web telephony applications. In addition, the engine provides extensions to the Internet Explorer object model to support IVR applications. For more information, see Extended Object Model Overview.
