Platform SDK: Web Telephony Engine |
To support more flexible operations, WTE allows the integration of Microsoft ActiveX® components and scripts written in popular scripting languages. For example, phone-specific ActiveX components operating in the context of the run-time engine can provide object-oriented access to telephony equipment. Third-party vendors can publish their code as ActiveX components, and receive call-context information from the run-time engine. Examples of applications that third-party vendors can develop include user verification and speech recognition-based directory assistance. The functionality of ActiveX components is accessible using VBScript and JScript. WTE also supports Java applets.
