Introduction

Version 1.0 release

Looking for a way to let users author for your cool Java applet or server component? Want to create an embedded, editable wizard that generates anything you can imagine into an HTML page? If so, Microsoft Design-time controls are the solution you've been looking for. The Microsoft Design-time Control SDK will show you how easy it is to create Design-time controls that can make the most complex HTML authoring tasks simple. The SDK includes:

Microsoft Design-time ActiveX Control Pad
Microsoft has created a special edition of the Microsoft ActiveX Control Pad that supports Design-time controls: the Microsoft Design-time ActiveX Control Pad. This is a release for developers. You can download this popular ActiveX authoring tool (see the "Download" link at left) to try out the sample controls in the SDK and the controls you build yourself.

Make sure to visit http://msdn.microsoft.com/vinterdev/ to find out about Visual Interdev™ (previously code-named "Internet Studio"), a new tool that leverages ActiveX Design-time controls.

Accessing the Design-time Control SDK newsgroup
We have established an online user-to-user support newsgroup for the Design-time Control SDK. This newsgroup is for user-to-user support, although it is monitored by Microsoft for product feedback purposes. To access this newsgroup, use your preferred newsgroup reader and enter the news server address as msnews.microsoft.com. The name of the newsgroup is "activex.programming.control.webdc". Or, you can use the following URL to access the newsgroup directly from a Web browser: news:microsoft.public.activex.programming.control.webdc. The newsreader that is included with Internet Explorer version 3.0 supports multiple news servers; if you're running Internet Explorer 3.0 Beta 1 or later, you can download the newsreader from the Internet Mail and News page Non-MSDN Online link.
