SYMPTOMS

Clients connecting to a computer running Internet Information Server (IIS) 3.0 over a slow or unresponsive network may see either of the following problems:

• They receive the error message "The connection was reset".

• Only partial pages are seen when opening an IIS Web page.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Internet Information Server version 3.0. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition Service Pack 4.
