Certificate Phone Number Field Does Not Accept Letters

SYMPTOMS

When you set up Certificate Server, the Phone Number field may not contain any characters other than numbers.

CAUSE

This is by design. The Phone Number field is not a standard option in certificates. This option is not used by Microsoft Certificate Server, VeriSign, or Thawte.
