System Errors with Event ID 1008 Occur for Qperf.dll

SYMPTOMS

The following error messages (all with Event ID 1008) are listed in the Event Viewer:

Content Filter

The open procedure for service "Content Filter" in Qperf.dll failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. Status code returned is DWORD0.

Content Index

The open procedure for service "Content Index" in Qperf.dll failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. Status code returned is DWORD0.

ISAPI Search

The open procedure for service "ISAPI Search" in Qperf.dll failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. Status code returned is DWORD0.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, perform the following steps:

Stop all unnecessary Windows NT services.

Remove and reinstall the Index Server component of the Windows NT Option Pack.

Note: In some situations, it may be necessary to remove and reinstall the entire Windows NT Option Pack.

CAUTION: Before you remove the Windows NT Option Pack, be sure to back up any configuration information needed to restore you IIS settings.
