SYMPTOMSWeb Site server bindings information written to metabase is corrupted when you use the Internet Information Server (IIS) HTML Administration tool to change Site logging properties for a Web site. This can render the site unreachable because of an incorrect value for the host header name. The following error message may occur:
CAUSEBindings properties are stored in session variables. Entering the Web Site logging dialog in the HTML Admin resets the session variables, which causes incorrect information to be written for the bindings. WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, use the Microsoft Management Console to correct the Web Site bindings information. RESOLUTIONA supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems
experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this
specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows NT service pack
