TCP Connections Not Released by IIS

SYMPTOMS

When you run an Internet Information Server (IIS) computer for an extensive period of time, TCP connections may not be released. This can eventually cause the server to run out of resources.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Internet Information Server 4.0. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6.
