SYMPTOMSWhen you have Internet Explorer 5 and Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack installed on a computer running Windows NT 4.0, you may not be able to view a Web site's configuration information from the Internet Service Manager (HTML) utility for remote Internet Information Server (IIS) administration. The following error message may appear when you attempt to use the Browse command to specify a folder location on the default Web site's Web Site page, Home Directory page, or Documents page: To get to these default Web site pages from a newly opened Internet Service Manager (HTML) window, click Default Web Site in the right panel, and then click Properties in the left panel. Then, click Web Site, Home Directory, or Documents in the left panel to open the appropriate page. CAUSEThis behavior occurs because the new scripting engines installed with Internet Explorer 5 interfere with the browsing function in Internet Service Manager (HTML). Internet Explorer 5 operates with VBScript instead of Java, which is used with Internet Explorer 4.x. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0.
