The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIf you are able to access pages through the Proxy Server, after some time it may stop serving pages with the following error messages:
-or- No other pages can be accessed through the Proxy Server without stopping and restarting the service. CAUSE
If virtual memory is set below the recommended size, the Proxy Server
will use all the available memory and finally fail to complete requests.
To fix this, the service must be stopped and restarted.
WORKAROUND
Set the virtual memory to at least 20 MB over the recommended size. To do
this, use the steps below:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem with Microsoft Proxy Server versions 1.0 and 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. Additional query words: proxy memory
