Cannot Cancel Selection of Some Components in Small Business Server Custom Installation

SYMPTOMS

If you choose Custom Installation during Small Business Server Setup, you cannot cancel the selection of some components in the Select Components dialog box. There is no dialog box or reference that states that the selection of these components cannot be canceled.

CAUSE

The following components are required. You cannot cancel the selection of these components because they are essential to Small Business Server:

• Crystal Reports



• Internet Connection Wizard



• Microsoft Active Server Pages



• Microsoft Index Server



• Microsoft Internet Explorer



• Microsoft Proxy Client



• Microsoft Proxy Server



• Microsoft Small Business Server

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server version 4.0.
