Installing SBS with Intel Motherboard with Integrated Network Interface Card (NIC)

SYMPTOMS

Errors may occur when installing SBS on an Intel motherboard with an integrated network interface card,


CAUSE

This problem may occur because the incorrect driver is loaded.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, download the newest driver from Intel and then follow these steps:

  1. Begin installation.


  2. When SBS restarts and the Welcome to SBS screen is displayed, press Cancel.


  3. Add the new driver through Control Panel by using the Network tool.


  4. Shut down and restart the system.


  5. After the server restarts, the Welcome to SBS screen should come up. Now continue as normal with the installation.


If the Welcome to SBS screen does not come up, do the following:
  • Click Start, click run line, and then type:
    E:\Startsam
    NOTE: E should be the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.
