SYMPTOMSEven though you have configured a dial-up networking connection to your Internet service provider (ISP) for autodisconnect, the modem stays connected to the ISP until you manually disconnect. CAUSEThis problem occurs because IP multicast packets, such as those for Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP) or Routing Information Protocol version 2 (RIP2), are being transmitted from the ISP's routers in a shorter time interval than the autodisconnect time setting.
