SYMPTOMSWhen you try to use the Small Business Server Fax client on your Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98-based computer, the number in the area code box may not be dialed. CAUSEThis issue can occur if the "Dial as Entered" feature in the SBS Fax Wizard is enabled. With this feature you can dial numbers that do not apply to the pre-defined area code rules on the server. RESOLUTION
To send a fax to a number using 10-digit dialing, use the following format in the number field X,AAA-NNN-NNNNwhere X is the access code to get an outside line if needed, AAA is the area code, and NNN-NNNN is the number to dial. STATUSThis behavior is by design. Additional query words: smallbiz
