No Fax Printers When You Install Outlook 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you install Microsoft Outlook 2000 on a computer running Small Business Server (SBS), clints may not be able to send faxes. In addition, the list of fax printers is not available in the Fax Server tool in Control Panel and fax printers are not displayed in the Printers folder on the server running SBS.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, complete the installation and restart your computer.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Small Business Server.

Before you install Outlook 2000 on the SBS server, do the following:

• Disconnect all users from the server.
• Hang up the modem and work in offline mode.
• Send any faxes waiting to be sent.
