Computer Upgraded to SBS 4.5 Displays Background Bitmap for SBS 4.0 Logon Screen

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade your computer running BackOffice Small Business Server (SBS) version 4.0 or 4.0a to SBS 4.5, the background bitmap for the SBS logon screen still shows that you are running SBS 4.0.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue:

1. In Windows NT Explorer, locate the Winnt.sbs folder.



2. Rename the Lanma256.bmp and Lanmannt.bmp files to *.old.



3. Ensure that the Lanma256.bmp and Lanmannt.bmp files do not exist in the Winnt.sbs\System32 folder. If they do, rename these files to *.old.



4. In Windows NT Explorer, locate the Program Files\Microsoft BackOffice folder.



5. Copy the Lanma256.bmp and Lanmannt.bmp files to the Winnt.sbs folder.
