SYMPTOMSWhen you click the Inbox icon on the desktop on an Exchange server, Microsoft Windows Messaging may be installed. When this occurs, the Microsoft Exchange submenu is removed from the Start menu under the All Users profile. The program group and shortcuts are removed, but the files are not removed. CAUSEThis behavior can occur if Windows Messaging 1.0 is installed on the Exchange server. Windows Messaging 1.0 should not be installed on an Exchange server. The Windows Messaging client resembles the Exchange 32-bit client that is included with Exchange versions earlier than 5.5. With the release of Exchange 5.5, Microsoft Outlook is the supported messaging client. If you must install a client on the Exchange server, Microsoft recommends installing Outlook as the client. RESOLUTION
You can re-create the Microsoft Exchange menu by reinstalling Exchange Administrator in Exchange Server Setup and reinstalling Microsoft Exchange Service Pack 2 (SP2) or the latest Exchange service pack.
