SYMPTOMSThe Address Book button in the Fax Send utility may be unavailable or nothing may happen when you click it. CAUSEThe Fax client relies on the Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) to retrieve the address book. The Fax client installs a special Mapi.dll file that has the necessary extensions for the Fax client. During the installation of the Fax client, the special Mapi.dll file is copied to the Windows\System folder. An older version of the Mapi.dll file that does not have the necessary Fax extensions may be present in the Windows folder. If a Mapi.dll file is present in the Windows folder, the Fax Send utility uses it rather than the correct file in the Windows\System folder. RESOLUTIONRename the Mapi.dll file in the Windows folder to Mapi.old, and then try the Fax Send utility again. Additional query words: smallbiz grayed greyed out
